Skunk seeds are the most famous, sold and crossbred marijuana strain in the world. This species of cannabis was created and presented to the public in 1969 in California.
It was Skunkman legend "David Watson" along with a group of growers called Sacred Seeds, who created the legendary Skunk .
Although it was illegal to grow and possess marijuana in the United States at the time, Skunkman and his team began to work methodically on the Skunk project.
The beginning was not easy in fact the first specimens were rather small cannabis plants, very unstable and with only the presence of the sativa phenotype.
While the intent was to combine multiple sativas with an indica, in fact the first cross was 75% sativa Acapulco Gold, 25% Columbian Gold, 25% Mexican sativa and for the Indica they used a beautiful Afghani.
After numerous trials and crosses, they managed to bring out the required characteristics of all the cannabis strains used in one Skunk. Why did they use this name? what is the meaning of skunk "skunk" .
They used the hybrid Acapulco Gold, to reduce flowering times and strengthen its resistance to mold and pests. Once established into a healthy, productive, short flowering plant, Skunk seeds were put on sale.
Initially, growers complained about the high cost of seeds, but Skunk and its excellent qualities were the absolute novelty that no one wanted to pass up. In the 80s they tightened the anti-drug laws with very high penalties.
The Skunkman was arrested, but released on bail shortly thereafter. Once out I go back to his field where he cultivated and was surprised that the police had not destroyed all of his plants.
Here the legend says that among the few safe plants the Skunk specimen n. 18.2. As they say, bad luck can be your luck, in fact after being arrested Skunkman went to Holland with 250,000 skunk seeds to sell.
